Varsai

Tal Pen, Dist - Raigad
Varsai is the native place of Godse Bhatji, who wrote the first travelogue "Maazaa Pravaas" in Marathi. The book describes Rani LakshmiBai and the struggle against British in 1857.
Historian Rajwade was also born in this village.
Gagode, native village of Bharat Ratn Acharya Vinoba Bhave is situated nearby. Forts like Manikgad and Saksai are also in vicinity. There is a natural stone wall across the river, a geological wonder.
